So, you're not using this in school, but you want a similar experience. Weekly goals. A course outline. This is the place...
First, download and install the sound files ( see this thread: http://forum.auriculaonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=25 ).
Second, download and install the presets ( see this thread: http://forum.auriculaonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=35 ).
This should be everything you need to make your own self-guided curriculum!
Week 1:
Start with pink noise. Open the Pink Noise GarageBand document. Choose a preset with 'Week 1' in the title. Master it! Repeat until you've mastered all the presets with 'Week 1' in the title.
Move on to music. Try 'Concrete and Steel' ( or another song that you find to be one of the easier ones ). Master all of the 'Week 1' presets.
Repeat with a few more songs...
Week 2:
Repeat your week 1 efforts - this time using presets with 'Week 2' in the title...
Weeks 3-15:
You've probably figured out what to do by now...

So you've mastered everything we could throw at you so far, and you're looking for another challenge...
Helices can be more challenging if you:
- work with tracks that have less distortion and more 'air' - try Steely Dan, jazz, or classical tracks...
- work with individual instruments - try GarageBand's built in sample library like snare drums, kick drums, and bass lines -or- use your own vocal tracks...
- work in Peak mode with the gain set to +/-6, +/-3, or random...
- work in Peak mode with the Q set to random... |
